AVIATION & AEROSPACE TECHNOLOGY
Students in this program learn the skills required for high-wage jobs such as aircraft maintenance technicians and support personnel. They receive training in aircraft painting, sheet metal, electricity, nondestructive testing, welding, wood and fabric work, composite structures, landing gear repair and aircraft taxing. This program is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and strictly adheres to FAA guidelines. Paid apprenticeships at Altus Air Force Base are available during the summer months to qualified students and job opportunities exist in this area of the state as well as across the country and world for each year’s graduates.

BUSINESS & COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY
Students learn the basic operation of personal computers, keyboarding, word processing, human relations and office packages. The program offers job specific training and the skills necessary to succeed in the business world. Students may specialize in the following three areas:

CONSTRUCTION
TECHNOLOGY
A
construction trade prepares students to work in the growing construction field. Students learn the skills needed to build a
house from the foundation to the front door.
This program is designed so students can actually perform each of the
steps required on a building project.
Projects include aspects of brick masonry, residential and commercial
carpentry and cabinet making.

HEALTH SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY
Health science technology is provided for high school students only. This course provides diverse training
opportunities in the health care career field.
Students learn CPR, first aid, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology
and more. Clinical training is completed
at various health care facilities and enables students to get practical
experience in a chosen health care occupation.
Students may also earn advanced standing for the practical nursing
program.

INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY
Three different certifications are included under this training area including
electronics, simulator maintenance technology and industrial maintenance
technician.
Electronics
Troubleshooting and problem solving are encouraged
in this program. Students learn the principles
and skills to diagnose and repair electronic malfunctions. Basic electronics (AC/DC), semiconductor
devices, digital electronics and microprocessor components are taught. Electronics is the basic foundation for many
fields such as electronic media engineering, system design and simulator
maintenance.

Simulator Maintenance Technology
Job satisfaction, good pay and high demand are the
motivating factors for becoming a simulator technician. Students in this program are taught to
diagnose and maintain electrical computers as well as hydraulic and pneumatic
systems by training on F-111 and C-141 flight simulators. Electronics competency is a prerequisite
which can be met with a competency test or by enrolling in our electronics
course.

SERVICE CAREER TECHNOLOGY
Students learn skills related to lawn care, landscaping and the repair and
maintenance of a variety of power tools and equipment. Hands-on learning experiences are provided in
a variety of job skill areas including landscape design, lawn care and
environmental technologies and welding.

PRACTICAL NURSING
This 12-month training program for adults only begins in February of each year. The program prepares students for work as highly skilled members of the health care team. During the training, students learn various nursing procedures including administering medications and providing treatments prescribed by a licensed physician. Students also spend class time working in a clinical practicum at a health care facility.
