PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This twelve-month Practical Nursing training program, beginning in February each year, will prepare students to work as a highly skilled member of the health care team. Upon successfully writing the licensure exam, students can work under the supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed physician to provide nursing care to selected patients.

The Southwest Technology Center, School of Practical Nurses, is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Graduates of this state approved program are eligible to apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for practical nurses.
